therapy for autistic women In Jacksonville

Online therapy for late-diagnosed autistic and AuDHD women in Jacksonville and across Florida, healing from emotional abuse, masking and burnout.

Maybe the diagnosis came at 35, or 50, or you're still wondering. Either way, a lot of your life is starting to make sense, and a lot of it hurts to look at.

I'm Amanda Morris, an AuDHD therapist who works with autistic women across Florida by video. You can show up exactly as you are, from your own space, without the performance.

At a Glance

WHO I SEE

Autistic, AuDHD and neurodivergent women, 21 and up.

Formally diagnosed, self-identified or still wondering.

WHAT WE WORK ON

Recovering from emotional and narcissistic abuse, autistic burnout, the exhaustion of masking, and making sense of a late diagnosis.

WHERE

Online, anywhere in Florida. Jacksonville, the Beaches, Ponte Vedra, Orange Park, Fernandina Beach and beyond.

Maybe You've Noticed

  • You've spent years watching other people to figure out how to act, and you're exhausted.

  • You hold it together at work, then collapse the minute you get home.

  • Noise, light or a crowded room can take you out for the rest of the day.

  • Relationships have left you confused about what's real, and blaming yourself.

  • Therapists have called it anxiety, depression or trauma. None of it quite fit.

  • You recognize yourself in autistic women's stories online, and it's equal parts relief and grief.

If you're nodding along, you don't need a formal diagnosis to start. Plenty of my clients are still figuring it out. My post Am I Autistic, or Is It Just Trauma? is a good place to start untangling it.

Online Therapy From Wherever You Are in Jacksonville

Jacksonville is spread out, and getting across town for a weekly appointment can take more energy than the session itself. Online therapy skips all of that.

  • Meet from Riverside, San Marco, Mandarin, the Southside, Arlington or the Beaches.

  • No I-95 or Buckman Bridge traffic, no fluorescent waiting room.

  • Keep your lighting, your noise level, your stim tools and your pet.

  • Camera off for a few minutes if you need it. No eye contact required.

I'm based in Louisiana, so I'm an hour behind you. Sessions are scheduled in Eastern time, and I'll confirm every appointment in your time zone.

Fees: Private pay. $275 for the 75-minute initial evaluation and $250 per 55-minute session. I can provide a superbill for possible out-of-network reimbursement.

What We Work On Together

A late autism diagnosis doesn't just add a label. It rewrites your history. Old friendships, past relationships, jobs that wore you down: suddenly they all look different.

  • Emotional abuse recovery. Many autistic women end up with controlling partners. Gaslighting hits harder when you've been told for years that you read people wrong. We sort out what happened and rebuild your trust in your own perception.

  • Autistic burnout. We work on rest, regulation and lowering your daily load, not on pushing you back to the pace that burned you out. My post Autistic Burnout vs. Depression explains why the usual advice often misses.

  • Unmasking, safely. Figuring out which parts of you were survival and which are actually you, and where it's safe to let the mask slip.

  • Rejection sensitivity and emotional regulation. Without shame and without being told to "just calm down."

  • Grief and relief after diagnosis. Room for both, at the same time.

Hi, I’m Amanda

I'm a licensed clinical social worker with 25 years of experience, and I'm AuDHD myself. I know what it's like to spend decades thinking you're just bad at being a person, then finally find the missing piece.

My work is trauma-informed and neurodiversity-affirming. Bluntness is welcome. So are long pauses, info-dumps and needing a minute to find the words. I'm registered with the Florida Department of Health to provide telehealth, so I can see you anywhere in the state.

Is This a Good Fit?

Likely a good fit if you:

  • Are autistic, AuDHD or questioning, with or without a diagnosis

  • Are recovering from an emotionally abusive or controlling relationship

  • Are burned out from years of masking

  • Want deep work with a therapist who gets your wiring

  • Live in Florida, Louisiana or Virginia

Probably not the right fit if you:

  • Are in crisis or in danger. Call 911, or 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.

  • Want an autism or ADHD evaluation. I don't test, but I can share options for adult evaluations.

  • Need medication management. I'm a licensed clinical social worker, not a prescriber.

  • Are looking for a quick fix. This work goes at your pace.

Other Ways To Work Together

All of these are online, so they're open to you from Jacksonville.
